Another post made me think that we can help each other find new shows and movies to watch.
What genre of shows do you like?
What are some shows/movies that you really liked?
What are some shows/movies that you completely disliked or had to stop watching several minutes or halfway through?
I'll start.... I love scary movies these days, Pre-Dday the I have never seen a Friday the 13th movie or Halloween, Mirrors and the grudge scared me after watching those 2 I had my exh check the rooms before I walked in. I couldn't stand to see the bathroom mirror from my bed. And yes, I to pull the shower curtain back to make sure someone isn't in the shower. From either that anti-pressant or the depression they don't scare me or make hard to sleep at im
I like the scare and startles but none of the overkill of gore.
I like mysteries, psychological thrillers, who-didits, romances, revenge, some science, law order, dark

I don't know if I have a favorite genre, but all time favorite shows include Buffy the Vampre Slayer, Angel and Veronica Mars.
More recently have enjoyed Peaky Blinders and The Last Kingdom. Watched Vikings for awhile, too, but felt like it jumped the shark a bit after a main character's death and never finished the series.
Annnd I just binged watched Euphoria. I have a lot of conflicting thoughts about that one. I think a lot of the criticisms about content, and nudity is fair, and the fact that even though the actors are adults they're portraying naked teenagers is... admittedly weird. But I love the soundtrack, think it's visually stunning to watch, and have found it cathartic in some ways. I've struggled with alcohol, and can remember/relate to Rue's desire to just feel nothing and basically incapacitate yourself while life goes on around you. But it's definitely not a show for everyone.
Anyways, if you're into historical/period pieces with some fighting (either gun fights or seord fights), I would highly recommend checking out Peaky Blinders or The Last Kingdom (the first two episodes are slow to set things up, but once they're over the show hits it's stride).

I agree those are good shows. I was excited when they brought Veronica Mars back after it was originally canceled. am not finished watching the final season of Veronica Mars. I'm kind of saving the last several episodes.
The Last Kingdom sounds interesting. I might check it out.

Omg, Euphoria. It's like a car accident--I am completely enthralled and horrified at the same time. I tend to be a bit of a prude in life, but the sex feels literally 5% less graphic than watching porn. That's it, 5% less revealing. And real teenagers are watching this??!! My god!!!! These tv "teenagers" are having regular, varied, risque, playing-dress-up sex like they've been rolling around in the hay their whole lives! Eww. Yuck.
Then there are...hmm, let me see--the rapes, the cam girls, the prostitution (is that what Jules does with Nate's dad?), the interpersonal violence, the cyberbullying, the regular bullying, the false police reports and accusations, the cheating (trigger city), and on the side, the drugs and alcohol.
My daughter is 19 and loves it. I leave her alone about it, but I don't want any of this normalized for her. Now that I've said all that...
Zendaya is fantastic, the music is spectacular, the camera work is excellent, and the show is slick! It's really good, but my love/hate relationship with the show has me feeling all sorts of guilt. Like I'm part of the problem. Lol.
I really like Somebody Somewhere on HBO. It finishes tomorrow night. Cheating triggers (of course!) but it's heart warming and funny.

Some great shows that are on streaming services that I love:
The Fabulous Mrs. Maisel this show is fantastic, the writing brilliant, and the timing of the actors is fabulous.
I love Schitts Creek for some mindless comedy, so often after a crazy work day I will turn it on for background while I chill.
I also find some darker more serious stuff great.
Billions
Dexter
Boardwalk Empire
Sopranos is always worth a rewatch
Another one that was highly underrated was Deadwood.
A fun movie I saw recently that was much better than I anticipated was Free Guy and if you are a gamer it's even better. Or if you live with a gamer, and have been forced to sit and watch them play it is really really funny.

Mad About You. FOR SURE
Have you read Paul Reiser’s books..."Couplehood" and "Babyhood"?
I reread "Couplehood" while I was waiting for a flight in an airport… Back when people flew on airplanes.
I was laughing out loud so hard that I had three different people come over and asked me if I needed help.
I think if you like "Mad About You" TV show, you would LOVE those books!

That depends on what you enjoy.
I found the first 3 seasons to be non stop go go go and enjoyed it yes. I can relate to the show I guess. Trying to keep thr family farm while dealing with family falling apart.
Now Sons Of Anarchy totally different. It was go go go but always one tragedy after another. It's like what the hell else is going to go wrong this episode. Very edge of your seat shit.

I watched it last night and loved it. They picked the perfect kid to be young Adam (Ryan Reynolds). I was hoping they would have an blooper reel at the end like Deadpool.
