Is there any way to send out a message to some older users to get an update on how they are doing in there reconciliation or their new lives out of infidelity? Im sure there are a lot of people who are interested in how people have healed since they left SI.

I dont mean by PM from every person on the site just from the Admins

When responding publicly in your capacity as a mod, how do you decide whether to use your personal account or the "SI Staff" account?

How many mods are still here from 2003?

I’m getting old and my memory sucks now. What year was it when the user purge/crash or whatever happened and user accounts had to be reset? I was thinking about this when I came back and it’s bugging me that I can’t remember!

I pretend to speak for the admins and mods when I state that this isn’t really possible without compromising one of our most prized offerings: the anonymity this site offers.
As a user you can click in a box to get an email if you get a PM. If that’s not selected there really isn’t any way we can reach out to those that chose to move on from this site, or those that don’t update their status.

Is it possible to access posts from 2004, or are they gone forever? I think I remember seeing something a few years ago that said that archives only go back so far.

As someone who used to moderate another much larger forum, I thank you mods for what you have to put up with!

On the other forum, there was to be absolutely no discussion of moderating, meaning someone shouldn't even ask why a thread was shut down or closed, or why any particular member might have been banned. Because members often don't read the Terms of Service, it wasn't unusual for them not to be aware of this rule, so we'd often give members one pass. After that, they'd either be put in 'time-out' (would be temporarily banned for a finite amount of time depending on the infraction), or repeat behaviors would lead to a permanent ban. THEN... banned members started re-registering with a new email address and username. We had the ability to check IP addresses and catch some of them (and literally, I can remember some stubborn posters re-registering 3-4 times). But then people figured out how to manipulate their IP addresses. It was a nightmare.

I really do miss that community (and have made good friends and met in person some of those members), but after a number of years on it, it became redundant with the same posters saying the same things over and over again.

So I do appreciate what the moderators do here.

Is it possible to have a high contrast skin so it is easier to read? Like a basic black and white?

I personally only use SI Staff when moderating in JFO to maintain the spirit and guidelines of the thread. The use of SI Staff is at the moderator’s discretion.

None, unless you count MangledHeart. The site was still a baby back in 2003.

Guides are our eyes and ears. They are here to welcome new members, guide new members, and let us know when there is something to address.

Moderators are staff that discuss and decide if or what actions to take when necessary. Mods are the peace keepers here.

Attache is the hybrid of guide and moderator.

Administrators have more access to information behind the scenes.

With a platinum membership you can access your archived posts.
