Mature people who are more interested in helping their partner / spouse heal would not behave the way your wife did.

Even if driven by fear, asking you not to get support from us at SI is just a huge "tell". It should tell you that she’s not looking out for YOUR best interest.

We are giving you suggestions and advice. Maybe a different perspective. If she doesn’t like she really has to learn to accept it. You are not doing anything wrong and you are not violating her trust.

Had my H EVER said to me to lose SI — I agree I would lose something. Him! Had he told me not to continue with counseling for 2 years after dday2 I would have dropped my H at the nearest motel.

Sometimes the cheater acts out of fear. Unfortunately these are things they never ever thought about when they chose to cheat. IMO they just have to suck it up and hope for the best.

Survived two affairs and brink of Divorce. Happily reconciled. 10 years out from Dday. Reconciliation takes two committed people to be successful.
