Thanks everyone, again!
D got us the most precious Christmas gift - mind you, she is known in the family as the person who gives the most unique and well thought out gifts for special occasions. Earlier this week, while she was visiting us, she arranged for a mobile 3D/4D ultrasound technician business to come to our house and spend about 20 minutes doing an ultrasound of the baby! She did it because she knows how hard it is for us, living so far away, and not being able to be a part of the pregnancy changes in her. SIL's sister and mother, and our other D, were also able to be here for it.
At one point, its fingers made the peace sign✌️! We saw its mouth open, saw all the limbs, the spine/ribs. With the 4D technology, we could make out some facial features, and they were able to confirm it was a boy - saw it's little weenky, right there!
Since it was an elective ultrasound, that's why she had to pay out-of-pocket, but that's what made it a gift for us. She's already had two diagnostic ultrasounds - around seven weeks, then twelve week, that insurance covered. And she will have only one more at 20 weeks, unless she develops some complication that necessitates more down the line.
And we did a ton of shopping for baby clothes while she was here! It was so much fun. I bought a wide range of sizes, going up to 12 months. I have found some really unique baby clothing store websites, too, and made online purchases. It's so much fun being at a financially different place in life than we were when we had our babies, and couldn't afford spending this much on clothes.
