Would it be possible to publicly have a discussion on why this topic has become blocked at this time?

What rules did it violate? When? If it violated them early on, why did the post remain unlocked for so long? Is it even within the rules to ask any of this or should this post be blocked?

You can always post a topic requesting staff attention to ask questions about staff decisions, particularly as regards locking posts. I think that’s the preferred method of communication.

That’s been my experience, at least. smile

I can’t give all the details, however the original poster will not be returning to the thread. This particular thread was appropriate to lock under the circumstances.

If you keep asking people to give you the benefit of the doubt, they will eventually start to doubt your benefit.

I strongly recommend ALL posters on this site refresh their knowledge of the Guidelines on a regular basis.

As pointed out the correct way to ask about why Staff Action is taken is a request to mods, or an email to the mods.

If you have spent time on this site you will note that it’s relatively rare that a thread is locked and generally it’s done at the OP request (and noted by staff in the thread). You will also note that it’s relatively rare and seldom announced when posters are banned. The staff are under no obligation to explain why an action is taken.

Feel free to start a new thread on Women’s Day.

Edited to add: a new thread ABOUT Women’s Day... Would be terrible if we had to wait a year... laugh
