Thanks for checking in, dontlookbackinanger.
I would say, things have stabilized a bit. I have my thoughts under better control now, and am able to deal with triggers and blowouts without them upsetting me for days on end.
Wife is taking some positive steps. She is putting in all effort to look for a new job, tries to work from home as much as she can.
Not all sunshine and rainbows though. New year's eve was a major trigger for me, as I saw happy couples in each others arms dancing away. Wondering if we both will ever share that level of love and affection again. Atleast before the affair, we could convince ourselves we were a happy couple. This time around it'll be harder to pretend.
A weird analogy i came up with and shared with my wife: It's like having a beloved family pet for years, sharing your life with it, loving it, etc. Then one day, the pet viciously attacks you. Then again, the pet returns back to normal behavior. I'll probably take the pet back, but will always be wary. Knowing what it is capable of doing.
