The FDA needs a total shakedown over medicines. But when you have wolves in charge of the hen-house, hard to get anything done. And I feel that new meds that would quickly help people are way too slow to gain approval. Makes one think someone in high places has to be paid to obtain approval. The young man I posted about is still struggling to get insulin - something he needs to just LIVE. While in other countries, they are already using the artificial pancreas method which completely does away with Type One diabetes.
Just goes to show you, when politics are involved, people just die. Our medical care has us at the mercy of IDIOTS - for many years. Shameful!

Thankfully my W stayed on them, I was ok with paying $4 a month. My W said we need to fight for $4 or $4000.
The Dr went to bat with a Peer review and got it approved.

I totally agree with the frustration and all the issues surrounding healthcare.
But on the other hand, I just wanted to mention that my son has been prescribed Risperidone in the past and it didn鈥檛 work well for him at all. Now he is on Abilify, and doing MUCH better.
Not saying they should force you to try Abilify, but if that鈥檚 the way it is, I am hopeful that it will work out to your child鈥檚 benefit.
Good luck!
