I have a sincere question. Do I encourage my sons to get their mom who cheated and moved in with her AP Mother’s Day gifts?

Tired of her games. BH. Married 20 years. 2 sons 16 and 20. Going through divorce since September, 2021.

If they were little kids and needed you to provide money/take them to the store I would do that. But certainly not necessary for a 16 year old and a 20 year old.

Betrayed Wife, 39

2 preschool age children

Year long affair, he left me for the OW in Feb 2022

Divorcing, no contact, separated by an ocean thank god

Hi LH,

I was in the same predicament in March (UK based). My son is 6, I just facilitated by letting him choose a card and some flowers. Funny thing is his mother didn't get them on Mother's days as she didn't want to see our son on Mother's day. Think she was either too busy with AP or didn't feel she deserved to because of guilt/shame. Afterwards son told me that his grandma also got a card and chocolates on his behalf for his Mummy!

As mentioned above though it depends on age and if they still require you to provide the money for them to do so. If not then it should be their decision entirely.

Dig deep, this shit is hard, but you got this!

Thank you guys for the advice. Yeah. My WW sees our son when it’s convenient for her. It’s sad. She was giving him and his friends a ride back to my house from around ten minutes away and actually took a selfie with them. She’d probably say this was because it was funny having a bunch of teems squeezing into our car. I think it’s so she doesn’t feel guilty for moving away from him and barely seeing him. Mother’s Day is for people like my mom and many responsible mothers most people have. My WW puts her own happiness first so celebrating her lately seems counter-intuitive.
